Common Equity

The amount that all common shareholders have invested in a company. When viewing the capital stack, you’ll notice that common equity carries the most risk. This is because the common shareholders are the last investors to be paid back on the property. Each deal through Sharestates will clearly state whether the investment opportunity is debt (senior or mezzanine) or equity (preferred or common).
